After a couple days of Team Member previews, the Jurassic World VelociCoaster kicked off its Passholder previews this morning. Reservations are required to ride today through May 5th, and it officially opens June 10th.
I got my first chance to experience the all-new roller coaster myself, and was able to share video from my first time walking through the queue, as well as my initial reaction after getting off the ride. See the video below for more, as well as some photos below. Visual spoilers for the queue and descriptive spoilers for the ride are found in the video, so be warned.
The attraction is only open to annual passholders with reservations for previews at this time, but it’s possible that we could see soft openings at some point for the general public between now and the official grand opening on June 10th.
Soft openings, or technical rehearsals as Universal Orlando calls them, are when Team Members are able to practice running a ride before its official opening date. These types of openings are never guaranteed though, and not all effects or features may be available during previews.
Stay tuned to the website for information on possible soft openings in the coming weeks!
Visual spoilers for the queue follow, as we take a walk through the ride entrance, check out the raptors inside, and learn how the lockers work.
The lockers are double-sided so you can retrieve your items from the exit.
The official grand opening date for the Jurassic World VelociCoaster is June 10th. Stay tuned to the website, and subscribe to the YouTube channel to never miss an update!
