Here’s the Orlando theme-park news you need to know for January 24, 2022
1. Seven Seas Food Festival Menus and Concert Lineup Revealed
SeaWorld Orlando is known for having festivals almost year-round. One of the biggest festivals of the year is the Seven Seas Food Festival. This event is included with park admission, and takes place on Thursdays through Sundays between February 4 and May 8, 2022. This week, delicious menus were revealed alongside concert lineups for the live entertainment portion of the festival. Headliners include such acts as Everclear and Flo Rida.

2. Ice Breaker Preview
Orlando’s newest roller coaster broke the ice this week at SeaWorld Orlando and we got the chance to ride it! Ice Breaker has been in the works for several years now, and the opening day has been moved several times, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 3. Tribute Store x2
This week, a new Tribute Store opened up in Universal Studios Florida near the currently-closed Revenge of the Mummy. “Mummy,” as it’s affectionately shortened to by theme-park lovers, will be closed for part of the year in a refurbishment. Universal Monsters: A Tribute to the Creatures of the Night is the all-new, limited-time store inside the revamped Sahara Traders. In true Tribute Store form, the venue offers a beautiful and immersive experience for guests to browse for merchandise, snag a couple of pictures with movie production props, and – of course- put in $6 for a wax figurine before heading back out to the park.

4. Updates on Epic Universe!
According to Comcast executives on an earnings call earlier this week, progress on Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort has resumed, and executives are positive about the evolution of the park. The highly-anticipated theme park will include a Super Nintendo World section, and construction officially started at in 2019 but became delayed at the start of the pandemic.

5. Toothsome Opens in Philly
The city of brotherly love extended its rich history to include the newest installation of the Toothsome Milkshake line. The Toothsome Milkshake Foundry opened up in the Wells Fargo Center, home to the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers. This Toothsome is the first of the franchise to be outside a theme park setting, which is interesting considering the restaurant chain is a Universal Parks & Resorts original concept.

6. New Walt Disney World Entertainment Announced
The Most Magical Place on Earth just got a lot more magical! A new cavalcade and a new Cinderella Castle stage show will debut in February. The cavalcade, called Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade, will feature more characters than any other at a Walt Disney World park. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire castle show will feature original music and beloved characters from Disney films such as Tangled and The Princess and the Frog. Finally, in March, the Festival of Fantasy Parade will return – with the Maleficent Dragon! This is the first time since the start of the pandemic that a full-scale parade will be featured in a Walt Disney World park.

7. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind beginning to come together
The first full-size Nova Corps ship is coming to life at EPCOT. This week, Disney Imagineers installed the 51-ft tall Nova Corps Starblaster ship that will mark the entrance to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The roller coaster is expected to open sometime this summer, and is one of the largest, fastest indoor coasters in the world.
