It’s officially November and Disney World is rolling out quite a few treats in celebration.
We have already tried a fall whoopie pie, mini pumpkin, and cherry Dole Whip, and now we’re back with another review for ya! What sort of festive, fall treat are we trying this time around? Let’s find out!
If you find yourself at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, you may spot the Praline Pecan Cake.
This cake is available from now until November 27th and is a pecan cake topped with praline icing garnished with spiced candied pecans for $5.99. We were so excited to give this one a try since it deviated from the long list of pumpkin treats Disney World has released lately. But how does it compare??
You definitely need to be a fan of pecans to like this dish — but that probably isn’t a huge shocker considering it’s a pecan cake. That nuttiness was the most prominent flavor in the cake, which was also spongy and moist. It’s definitely a fun twist on the traditional pecan pie!
The powdered sugar and icing added a sweetness to the nuttiness and spice of the cake, while the candied pecan topping added the perfect crunch. We do wish it was a bit larger as we felt the portion was small, but this would be a great treat for pecan fans or those looking for a fall treat that ISN’T pumpkin flavored.
If you’re looking for a sweet dessert or something a bit more in-your-face-fall, we’d suggest skipping the Praline Pecan Cake!
