If you’ve ever taken a ride on the Disney World Skyliner, you know it’s a pretty special experience!
I mean, where else can you float high above the crowds, skip those bus lines, and even get sneak peeks of the parks? We haven’t even talked about how convenient it makes travel between many of the Disney World Resort hotels and the parks. But let’s be real. As great as it is, there are some things it desperately needs, and we’re going to talk about them now!
Here are the nine things we think the Disney World Skyliner desperately needs!
Skyliner Scavenger Hunt
Imagine gliding through the air and being on a mission to find hidden Mickeys or Disney trivia clues on the buildings below.
Maybe there could be a special section in the My Disney Experience to track your progress and unlock virtual badges. This would be a fun way to keep the whole family entertained, especially during those slower stretches between stops.
Single Rider Line
You know how sometimes you find yourself flying solo to EPCOT from your hotel for a quick Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure fix? Well, sometimes, waiting in line for a full gondola can feel like it takes forever.
A single-rider line could be a lifesaver, especially during peak hours. Plus, it would allow Cast Members to fill those empty seats and keep the gondolas moving faster.
A/C
Okay, so in our opinion, this one’s a no-brainer. Florida heat plus an enclosed gondola equals a major sweat fest.
The views are already spectacular, so a little air conditioning would make the overall Skyliner experience infinitely more comfortable.
“Staying On Board” Tag
Let’s talk about that awkward moment when your gondola pulls into the Riviera, and everyone piles out, except you, the lone wolf, heading off to EPCOT. There needs to be a way to discreetly signal you’re staying on board.
Maybe a “Staying On” tag would help to avoid the mass exodus immediately followed by the “Oh, you’re not getting off?” side-eye.
Muzak
We all know that feeling when you’re stuck in a silent gondola with strangers, desperately trying to avoid eye contact. A little light Disney-themed background music would be a lifesaver.
It wouldn’t have to be loud, just enough to fill the awkward silence and create a more relaxed atmosphere.
Padded Bench Seats
The current bench seats in the Skyliner are functional but not exactly comfy.
A little padding would go a long way in making the ride more comfortable, especially after a long day of park hopping.
Clear Route Maps
Okay, maybe it’s just me, but navigating the Skyliner system can sometimes be a little confusing, especially for first-timers.
A map that clearly shows all the stops and connections would be a huge help, and bonus points if it’s interactive and even shows real-time wait times in the parks!
Hand Sanitizer Stations
Hand sanitization is more important than ever. It would be a welcome addition if we could have hand sanitizer stations available either in the gondolas or right when you get off.
It would be a simple way to help keep everyone healthy and comfortable, especially after we all touch the same gondola doors, rails, and seats.
Inter-Gondola Snack Delivery System
Okay, so hear me out on this one. Imagine that you’re soaring towards the Riviera, daydreaming about a Dole Whip, when a sudden craving for a Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll hits you.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a way to order snacks mid-flight and have them magically appear at your next stop? How about a dedicated Skyliner snack cart that could zipline between gondolas? I mean, we can dream about it, right?
